A Hardy Christmas 2007
Well, Santa finally came. Through the snow and wind and cold. The stockings were hung with care, and things were left by the man in the red suit himself. On Christmas Eve after cleaning most of the day we made chex mix and played a 3 1/2 hour stint of Monopoly. Dad (Slumlord) beat everyone buying up all of the utilities and charging everyone rent, he also owned all of the red and blue properteis with Hotels. Everytime Jessica landed on community chest she wanted to buy it, that was pretty funny too.
Chrismas morning came and as the kids get older there is less and less under the tree. The girls both got Nintendo DS's and Josh got a wireless contraption so he can play xbox live with his uncle David. The kids all got the standard in thier stockings New toothbrushes, an orange, candy, hair stuff and cologne. Then I told them to clean up all of the papper and clean up the guest room because that was a mess too. They went in and found the Wii which has been fun to play too.
The roads were iced over so Jeff pulled Brooke behind the four wheeler, I sent her out all outfitted in a helmet and googles only to find out later that her dad told her she didn't need them. He is lucky she didn'd break her kneck. lol
I made some bean dip and we went over to Jeff's mom's house for the remainder of the day. It was fun to visit with cousins that day as they realized that Jaden received a DS too and they were able to IM (Instant Message) each other.
Christmas was wonderful, it was nice to stay home and enjoy spending time with our family. There was a noticable absence with Korrie, Colton and Nate not here. But maybe we will be able to have them spend a Christmas with us soon as they get older and have families of their own.
The day after, (Yesterday) we went shopping to get ready for the Hardy family party on Saturday. We are excited to see the kids. they are coming over tomorrow night.
Happy Holidays,

Day after Christmas
Its now the day after Christmas, as you can see on the blog, Christmas pictures were received from Terry and family, I know Annette has a brand new camera, but no pictures of Christmas grandkids. I am sure Barbara did not send any because she is bringing here family here tomorrow. Dave and Chery were here yesterday with the boys.
The trip to Cedar City for Christmas dinner at Aunt Elois and Uncle Jerrys house with Grandma Lois was just great. Elois and Jerry fixed a Trukey, Ham, Yams, Jello and Fruit Salad, homemade biscuits, noodles and more.
Aunt Mary Lou could not make it so she sent a tray of deserts, they were very good also.
It was very cold in Cedary City they have about 3 inches of new snow. We had a very good time and I got some leftovers for lunch today, bye for now hope to here from you all soon.

From Kristyn
This year has been very crazy for me. In september I began my last year as a college student. In June I will finally be graduating with a degree in English and a separate degree in Psychology. I moved into my first apartment and it is everything you could expect a broke college student to love in... falling apart, hardly any sunlight, and sometimes dirty. But it is nice to be living on my own (despite having 3 other roommates!). My most frequently asked question this year has to be "what are you going to do after you graduate?" The honest answer is that I really don't know yet. Eventually I would love to move into the music industry, hopefully promoting and planning concerts or maybe managing bands one day. But that is still a long time away.
I am excited and ready to be done with college and have been counting down the days until freedom (or lockdown, depending on how you want to look at it). Right now I am sitting in my living room watching TV... I just got done baking some pecan pies. Dad says they are as good as Grandma Thompson's but he might just be saying that because he has to. Haha. But I do love to cook and bake in my spare time. We don't have a dishwasher in my apartment and I hate doing dishes, so I don't cook too much... but every once in awhile its like I channeled Emeril. :)
I am working two jobs still... one on campus through the University helping the Associate Dean of students with Parent Notification -- sending Parents letters when their students exhibit problems with drugs, alcohol, and the law so the family can make supportive decisions. My second job is with a businessman in an office in Montecito (that's where Oprah lives!). So between school and work, I keep pretty busy.
Not sure what else to say right now. Hopefully that fills you in on my life at the moment. I miss everyone a lot and hope I can come visit soon! Love you! -- Kristyn.

2007 Terry's Family
This year was a whirlwind for us. We finally are all back together in our new home in Escondido. After a year of commuting, we bit the bullet and moved. We still have the house in Brea. It is rented out, hopefully it will stay that way. Update on the kids, Kristyn is doing great. We are super proud! Although she constantly complains about being poor, she will walk the stage in June with a double major from UCSB in English and Psychology. TJ was just elected the president of his Fraternity, so fathers hide your daughters. Actually, he is turning in to quite the young man. We never see him, but people tell us he is a nice guy and he has not been arrested yet, so, we are going to go with the nice guy thing till we hear different (: Danielle, well she is doing just fine, She is a great sister to her brother and she is turning in to a great young girl. She is her teachers favorite and is doing super with her grades. She has taken up the Saxophone (ask grandpa) and though I kid her I was amazed at how quickly she picked it up. She is getting ready to start softball again and I am sure that she will be the girl everyone is talking about. She has gotten really good the last couple of years (I may be partial). Max, well he is my hero! He has learned sooo much and he is a constant source of entertainment for us all. He loves everyone and lites up every room. His ability to talk is coming around slowly but surely. He is in a great class and has an excellent teacher. He just finished his first season playing soccer he had some fun and he actually scored a goal so that was super exciting. It was of course the only game I missed because I had to work. Probably better that I missed it if I saw it I would have cried and made a fool of myself but Nita and all the parents told me that he did it just like we practiced. He got a little trophy which we promptly placed on the mantle for all to see. Nita well you all know Nita, busy all the time she has started selling Mary Kay and is sure that she is going to get the pink Cadillac soon enough, (dad please send money someone stole all my cash to buy make-up I can give you cleanser and eye shadow for collateral :)). She has made some new friends and has some projects going but mostly she just keeps us from rollerskating down the hall with scissors in our hands, unless of course we wear helmets and goggles. We made it through the fires we had flames within 100 yards on two sides of the house I never thought I would see that happen it was truly scary and we are blessed to have our home in-tact so many people have lost everything. Everyday I drive to work and see the devastation its really sad but most everyone made it out alive and today on the news they showed the first completely re-built home in Ranch Bernardo. It was completed in eight weeks so things are moving along but you can see homes that are burned to the ground from the freeway it is like the tornado thing you see a few in a row that survived then one devastated then more that are fine then another gone really humbling site to see. I did talk to Corbin during the fires he was pretty close to one of them but seemed to be in a safe spot. I wish he would come visit us but he seems to be really busy Cortney as well maybe they will get the time to stop by before they graduate I told them that the food was always free but no takers yet. I hope that everyone has a great Christmas we love you all and wish you the best please come visit us we have room at the Barton Inn!

Kelsey's Year
Well, this year has definitely been interesting. I am actually a senior this year and I just finished my senior thesis presentation which I did on child labor during the progressive era. I did really well on it. I have also finished up all of my college applications and I am anxiously waiting back for either acceptance or denial. Hopefully acceptance though. I am looking forward to finishing up high school and going to college. I know that I am going to miss my family though. I am also enjoying my job alot more now that I know all the people I work with, and I know what I'm doing now. So that's about all that's going on with my life right now, but I can't wait for this summer where I can have some fun and visit everybody before I leave. Love everyone lots and I miss you all!!!
Courtney's Chatter
Hey!
Well..this blog is super exciting, what a great idea! I finished my first semester at CBU on Thursday, December 13, and am currently welcoming a vacation in Bridgeport with my family. This past year has just flown by, I have so many memories and have grown so much as a person! Lets see a couple of things that happened this past year, I transferred schools, wrote way too many papers, cut off ten inches of hair, made lots of new friends, been to the beach, been shopping (of course) and enjoyed spending time with family and friends! I am so thankful for each of you in my life!! XOXO
Corbin'sYear
It has been a busy one, working 2 jobs as an RA at the dorms and a CSO at the Police Dept. I am also going to school full time and taking 19 units next semester. Over the summer I completed the states requirements to become a EMT-Basic. I hope to attend Palomar College in the near future to obtain a degree in Fire Science. I am hoping to be a RA next year, the benefits really do out weigh the stress. I am applying to CDF-San Diego and San Diego Fire Dept for the summer I hope to be able to make alot of money doing this. The picture above is of me manning the deck gun on top of Bridgeport Fire Engine 2 at the Larson Fire in Coleville in June. This picture was taken about 3 minutes before the fire caused us to run for our lives, it was probably the most fun I have ever had!

Senior Thesis 2007
Here is Garrett, Kelsey, Cassie & Leo right before their Senior Thesis Presentations on 12/21/07. Kelsey did her presentation on Child Labor. We recorded her presentation in HD with the new video camera and the file is too big to send on this site, so here is a picture. She got a 97% not bad considering this class is a graduation requirement. It looks like she is on her way.
